A few blogs to check out
This week, Grant Wamack reviewed Bucket of Face on his blog, Spontaneous Combustion. Along with my review, there are reviews of other Bizarro books, links to some of Wamack’s own writing, and all sorts of news of interest to the Bizarro reader.
At the AWP in DC, I met Lee Thomas of Fiction Writers Review. After a conversation on the Bizarro genre, she wrote this article. The site has a lot of content on all things fiction-related, including reviews, interviews, essays, and journal spotlights.
David Barbee is the author of Carnageland, which is a New Bizarro Author Series book released last year, and Snufftoons, which you can read for free when you visit his site. Not only are all seven of this year’s NBAS books reviewed on this site, but also there are a number of other reviews and, as I mentioned, the free book.
Joseph Wargo is one Bizarro who truly lives the Bizarro life. As a hitchhiking street performer, this guy has been everywhere. There are no reserved, impartial reviews on his site. Instead, the reviews are written from the points of view of his id, ego, superego, and his Casio keyboard. Come for the reviews, but stay to read some of the journal entries describing his travels.
